Since joining OG&E in 2001 after graduating from the University of Oklahoma\, he has worked in distribution design\, planning\, and transmission operations. Hermes is a Registered Professional Engineer in the States of Oklahoma and Arkansas. \nHermes will be presenting “Oklahoma Gas and Electric’s Utility Scale Battery Pilot Project.” He will share insights from its first-hand pilot of a 500 kW / 664 kWh energy storage system\, designed to rapidly build internal knowledge around planning\, deployment\, and operations of flexible grid storage technologies. The session highlights how the pilot tested applications like grid stabilization\, voltage regulation\, microgrid operation\, and EV fast charging load mitigation to assess technical\, financial\, and operational viability. Attendees will learn about lessons from the research and testing\, including planning\, integration challenges\, use case outcomes\, and strategies for scaling to larger energy storage deployments.

In this role\, Nicki oversees the statewide association that represents 30 electric cooperatives in the state of Oklahoma and its legislative\, communications\, safety\, training & education\, self-insured’s fund and employee credit union services. \nPreviously\, Nicki served as executive director of the Southwestern Power Resources Association (SPRA)\, a not-for-profit organization of consumer-owned electric systems located in Arkansas\, Kansas\, Louisiana\, Missouri\, Oklahoma and Texas\, serving over 10 million end users. \nNicki serves in the Grand River Dam Authority Board (GRDA) Board as well as in the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s Preference Customer Committee. She was previously chair of the American Public Power Association’s Federal Hydropower Committee as well as served on the Board\, on the Executive Committee and Board of the National Waterways Association and was an advisor to the joint Department of Energy and Corps of Engineers Federal Hydropower Council and member of the Oklahoma Waterways Board. \nNicki is a native of Marshfield\, Missouri. She graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science as well as the University of Tulsa (TU) College of Law with her Juris Doctorate. While at TU\, she served as a member of the Energy Law Journal.\nNicki and her husband John reside in Edmond\, Oklahoma with their sons Jack and Luke. In their spare time\, they spend time on Oklahoma’s lakes and enjoy the great outdoors.

He is the director of the Power Grid Modernization Lab (PGML). \nDr. Nazaripouya obtained his Ph.D. degree from the University of California\, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2017. He received the M.Sc. degree in power systems from Louisiana State University in 2013\, the M.Sc. degree in power electronics from the Sharif University of Technology in 2010\, and the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Tehran in 2007. \nDr. Nazaripouya’s research is focused on power grid modernization. Dr. Nazaripouya is an experienced power system engineer with an industrial background\, having worked for Entergy Corporation. He is currently the Lead Primary Investigator (PI) of multi-million-dollar research projects and the Co–PI of several active projects on power grid modernization. Mustang Plant Road\, OKC\, OK 73127 \nMustang Energy Center is formerly known as the Mustang Power Plant. Originally constructed in 1950 in West OKC\, the original units have been retired and were replaced with natural gas\, simple cycle combustion turbines in 2018. The generation capacity is around 400 MW. The new units can reach peak power in 10 minutes\, compared to up to 22 hours for the old units.  Mustang Energy Center also has fixed and tracking solar panels that can generate about 2.5 MW.  The tracked solar location is on the far North end of the property and fixed Solar is located on the South side of the property.

She was sworn in to her first term as a Corporation Commissioner on January 9\, 2023. \nCommissioner David is the first woman since statehood to be named majority leader of the state senate. She is the first woman to chair the Senate Appropriations Committee and is the first republican woman to serve as majority whip. \n\n\n\n\nDuring her final term in the state senate\, Commissioner David sponsored legislation creating a hydrogen fuel production standard and establishing provisions for reporting hydrogen fuel production. \nAs small business owner managing multiple properties\, Commissioner David is well-versed on issues impacting small businesses. She previously worked in petroleum marketing both nationally and internationally. She is currently a member on the Committee on Electricity and the Subcommittee on Pipeline Safety for National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners and is a member of the Financial Research Institute advisory board. \nCommissioner David’s husband\, Dan\, is a retired federal law enforcement officer. Her daughter is an officer in the Oklahoma Air National guard. Her son served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He is a seasoned electrical engineer and project manager with over 48 years’ experience in seven major industries. Those industries include industrial chemicals\, real estate\, pulp & paper\, pharmaceutical\, food\, transportation\, and oil & gas. \nSince early 2010\, he has been focused on the E&P land-based sector of oil and gas applying sound electrical principles to the energy boom created through horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing. \nFor three and a half years he was the engineering advisor for power for Chesapeake Energy. Mr. Chapman is now operating as an independent electrical consultant to multiple clients in the industry. \nHe is an expert at taking complex electrical concepts and training non-electrical personnel in the technical and economic fundamentals that affect their industry. He helps clients make intelligent electrical decisions acting as their “in-house” engineering consultant. He has overseen all phases of the electrical project process including the project definition\, conceptual design\, detailed design\, bidding\, installation\, and startup. He has handled electrical facility design projects including but not limited to central tank batteries\, ESPs\, gas lift\, SWDs\, gas compression stations\, and utility power. \nTerry lives in Edmond\, Oklahoma with Cindy\, his wife of 46 years. DESCRIPTION:The Electric Power Infrastructure Club of Oklahoma\nis proud to host you at its February 13\, 2024 Meeting \n[If your company is interested in sponsoring this event\, register for the Meeting Host Sponsorship]\nA Public Power Perspective\nby guest speaker \n  \n \nDan Sullivan\nPresident/Chief Executive Officer\nGrand River Dam Authority \nDan Sullivan is the President/Chief Executive Officer for the Grand River Dam Authority (GRDA) and has served in that position since December 1\, 2011. \nAt GRDA\, Sullivan oversees a diverse electric generation portfolio of hydro\, coal\, wind and natural gas resources which includes Oklahoma’s first hydroelectric facility (Pensacola Dam) as well one of the most efficient combined cycle gas generation units in the world\, GRDA Unit 3. \nIn his GRDA leadership role\, Sullivan is an advocate for low-cost electricity generation as well as using the resources of GRDA for economic development across Oklahoma. He is also a voice for GRDA and Oklahoma public power on the national level as the immediate past Chair of the Large Public Power Council (LPPC) Board of Directors. \nPrior to his service to GRDA\, Sullivan practiced law in Tulsa for 23 years and was a member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives for District 71 in Tulsa for 7 years. During his tenure in the Oklahoma House of Representatives Sullivan served as Majority Floor Leader in 2006 and 2011. His major accomplishments in the Legislature resulted in significant reform in the Worker’s Compensation and Lawsuit areas. \nSullivan graduated from Wagoner High School in 1981 and attended Northeastern State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He also earned a law degree at the University of Tulsa College of Law. Sullivan and his wife\, Melanie\, have one son\, Joseph\, and one daughter\, Cora.
